Nestled in a spacious forested are, Daegu World Cup Stadium construction began in July, 1997 and it was publicly opened in May, 2001. It is the largest stadium in the nation with a seating capacity of 65,857 in the main stadium and 2,500 in the secondary stadium.
It was constructed for The 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup. The exterior which looks like roof symbolizes unification of world and the roof, shaped as Korean traditional house, Choga, straw-roofed house, makes people watch games in good condition. Daegu World Cup Stadium has wonderful sound facilities for better viewing and CCTVs for security of spectators |

Opened in 1994, Daegu National Museum in composed of three exhibition halls and one event hall. The museum exhibits about 1,300 historical relics collected in the Yeongnam region, Folklore Hall exhibits replicas of thraditional houses and other artifacts of Yeongnam which helps visitors better understand the regions lifestyle, religion, society, etc |

There are three floors in this hall. The first floor is a wholesale oriental medicine market; oriental medicines from all across the nation are brought to this market every five days starting from the 1st day of each month. The second floor has various oriental medicinal herbs on exhibition, as well as several interesting life-size displays depicting scenes such as taking a patient¡¯s pulse, slicing medicinal herbs, and brewing a pot of oriental medicine. About 211 ancient tombs found around Bullo-dong give the impression of setting back a clock to ancient times. These tombs, built in the Three Kingdoms period, are presumed to be those of the aboriginal ruling powers of this region. It is the first tomb park designated as a National Historical Site (No. 262 in June, 1978) |

¡Ü Donghwasa Temple
The temple was once used as the headquarters of the monk troops who fought against Hideyoshi¡¯s Invasion. The religious tradition of the nation guarding Korean Buddhism has lasted from the days of adopting Buddhism to this day. Donghwasa Temple was built in A.D. 439. There is Korea¡¯s largest statue of Buddha (Buddha Statue for unification) which stands 33m high and 16.5m wide. There are also five treasures including three-story Geumdang-am stone pagodas. |

¡Ü Seokguram Grotto
Seokguram Grotto, constructed with stones, is a round-domed chamber and looks like an earth-covered cave. It is regarded as one of the world's masterpieces in Buddhist culture. The heavenly guardians and other statues surround the main Buddha statue in the center.
¡Ü Bulguksa Temple
Bulguksa Temple, built with a combination of stylish architecture, Buddhist spirit and natural surroundings, symbolizes Buddha's land on earth. The stone layers harmonize perfectly with the different structures, such as the several halls and the statues of Buddha within them.Bulguksa Temple was built in the 10th year of King Gyeongdeok,751 A .D. by Kim Dae-seong, in memory of his parents. It was restored to its original condition in 1973.

¡Ü Gyeongju Folk Handicraft Village
Located in Ha-dong, about halfway between Bomun Lake Resort and Bulguk-sa Temple, the Folk's Hand Craft Village was created in 1986 to preserve traditional Shilla artistry. It also helps promote the artisans who carry on the traditions of their crafts by allowing them to sell directly to the public. At the entrance to the village is a large building with various shops selling traditional handicrafts.
¡Ü Cheomseongdae
Cheomseongdae is the oldest existing astral observatory in Asia.
Constructed during the reign of Queen Seon-Deok (632-647), it was used for observing the stars in order to forecast the weather. This stone architecture is a beautiful combination of straight lines and curves, designated as National Treasure No.31 on December 20th, 1962.

¡Ü Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park
Mungyeong Saejae was open during the reign of King Taejong of Chosun. King Seonjo built ramparts and barriers in 1594. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd barriers and rampart are designated as Historical Places No.147. They then became a popular place for sightseers after its restoration in 1976. Additionally, there are lots of things provided for tourists. Juhelgwan, Joryeongwan are at the first barrier, Jogokgwan, Hyeguksa at the second one, and Joryeongwan at the third one. The MugyeongSaejae Minyo(a folk song) monument on which the song ¡°Mungyeong Arirang¡± is written stands near Jogokgwan. |

However, the demand for coal was sharply reduced due to the development of other fuel sources so we need to collect data to record the history of the coal industry in one location so that our descendants can use this place as an educational center to learn about coal.

¡Ü Andong Hahoe Village
Andong Hahoe Village has preserved the housing architecture and the village structure of the Joseon dynasty. Moreover, the village was not artificially created; there are people who actually live there.
Hahoe Village is also famous for the Byeolsin exorcism, the mask dance and the Hahoe Mask. The Hahoe Byeongsan Mask is the oldest mask in Korea and is used in the Hahoe Mask Dance. Hahoe Village became famous from the visit of Queen Elizabeth in 1999. Many events featuring the Mask Dance are held. |

¡Ü Andong Folk Museum
This museum was built for the purpose of understanding, researching, preserving and exhibiting the folk culture in Andong area. Located near Andong dam, the museum offers a place for rest as well as for education. The daily life style and ceremonies related to marriage, funeral, and sacrifice in Andong are mainly displayed. |

¡Ü Byeongsan Seowon (Confucian school)
Byeongsan Seowon is a Confucian school that was established by esteemed Confucian scholars to pay tribute to the memory of Seong-nyong Yu (1542-1607), who was well-respected for his writings and personality. His mortuary tablet is enshrined at this school. Around the time of 1863, Confucian schools enjoyed many freedoms under the Joseon rule, students and scholars of the school were exempt from taxation and other expenses. Byeongsan Seowon was one of 47 places in all of Korea and 2 in Andong not destroyed during the rule of Daewongun [Politician of Joseon Imperial family, 1820~ 1898] in 1868.

¡Ü Museum of Daegaya Royal Tomb
The work for the establishment of the pavilion of Daegaya kings¡¯ tombs began in January of 1993. It was in September of 2000 that the pavilion was opened. This pavilion reproduced the inside of the Jisan-dong Tumulus No. 44. The Tumulus is, in large scale, an immolated burial tomb which was first identified in Korea. The pavilion was designed to enable visitors to enter the Tumulus which was constructed full scale. |

Dongseongno Street , situated between the Hanil Theater and Jungang Police Stand is the busiest street in the city. It is packed with shops of every clothes, sports goods, shoes and restaurants, cafes and bars. You can also find shops with fashionable clothing and beauty parlors as well as cultural facilities including large bookstores and theaters. Near the Dong-A Department store and Gyodong Market, you can purchase electronic goods at reasonable prices. |

¡Ü Sangumburi Drater
Sangumburi is the only crater in Jeju island that is not sitting on top of a mountain but in the middle of a vast grassland. The crater is slightly larger than the Baengnokdam crater of Mt.Halla. Strangely, the crater never fills up with water no matter how much in rains. Also referred to as a treasure box of plants. It is a natural botanical garden. Golden eulelia fields decorate the autumn scenery. |

¡Ü Bijarim Forest
The larest forest in the world that is formed by a single species of trees. The Bija tree only grows 1.5cm a year and thus has no annual rings. It must grow for at least 15~20 years before it bears fruit. There are about 2,500 trees that are 300~600 years old. Here you will find Jeju Island¡¯s oldest tree that is 810 years old and measures 6m in circumference and 14m in height. |

¡Ü The Bunjae Artpia
The world¡¯s largest outdoor bonsai garden. The Garden was created through the work of one dedicated farmer for 30 years. 2,000 pieces of bonsai(miniature tress)and 100 rare tree species grow in this garden. The world of bonsai is a world of discipline, patience, and love for living plants. One great man¡¯s lifelong work is displayed in photos and text.

¡Ü Jusangjeolri Seashore at Daepo Coast
An unusual rock formation created by the erosion from ocean waves and wind. It is as if someone stacked a pile of hexagonal crystals on the seashore. Jusangjeolri has been formed by the contraction phenomemon when magma was exposed and cooled on earth. |

¡Ü Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
Columns of water fall down the cliff and break into the underneath pond. A quiet path through the sub-tropical forest leads the visitors to the fall, and a separate one takes them back to the entrance. Mutae Eels(Anguilla Maromrata, Natural Monument No. 258)inhabit, and Dampalsu Trees(Elaseocarpus Jollingeri, Natural Monument)also are found in nearby valleys. |

¡Ü Jeju Folk Village Museum
A reproduction of a traditional village on the Island. It has an area of 4,550 §³ with a fishing village, outdoor exhibition of fishing tools, a stage for shaman rituals and the House of Intangible Cultural Properties. 81 traditional thatched roof houses form the village. There are a total of 117 buildings. |

¡Ü Seopji-koji
If you are interested in suseok(viewing stones), Seoji-koji is the place to go. This is the only beach on the island that has a soil of red volcanic ash called ¡°Songi¡±The strangely shaped stones that appear and disappear with the tide is a unique spectacle. |
